Healthy Gums

Healthy gums are essential for a healthy mouth and body and we take it very seriously.

Here at Spondon we have a skilled team to look after the health of your gums and we screen for gum disease at every dental health check.

Gum disease is the largest cause of tooth loss and it is now known that there is a strong correlation between gum disease and heart disease. There are several risk factors involved in getting gum disease primarily being plaque and secondary factors such as smoking, stress, diabetes and genetics.

Dental Therapists and Hygienists are highly skilled practitioners who will advise on the best oral hygiene techniques for you to remove plaque, as well as removing any hard tarter deposits from your teeth. The healthier the gums are kept, the less likely hood of getting gum disease and less likely hood of loosing your teeth through gum disease.

Alison Crisp is our Dental Therapist and Antonia Jane Kemp is our Dental Hygienist, they are both excellent practitioners providing the right care for your gums.
